YUVEN READY FOR SOPHOMORE USF PRO 2000 SEASON

Indian-American driver aiming to building on strong rookie campaign

DELAFIELD, WI (March 2, 2023) – After an off-season move to join the championship-winning Exclusive Autosport team, Indian-American race car driver Yuven Sundaramoorthy is ready to begin his sophomore season in the USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. The 20-year-old University of Wisconsin junior earned three podium finishes as a rookie in the series in 2022, finishing 10th in the overall standings as his former team’s highest-ranking driver. Heading into the 2023 season, Yuven is armed with more experience, an even sharper focus, and the knowledge of the team that took last year’s championship crown.

“I’m really looking forward to getting the season kicked off,” said Sundaramoorthy. “I believe we can bring home the championship this year and I’m going to keep putting in the work to make it happen. Thank you to my parents, family, friends, supporters and Exclusive Autosport for getting me to this point.”

The 2023 USF Pro 2000 season will challenge Yuven with the three different disciplines in open-wheel formula car racing. The season kicks off with the first of two temporary street circuit races, as the season opener is the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in Florida. The Honda Indy Toronto in Canada is the second street circuit event on the calendar, which takes place in mid-July. He’ll also tackle the 5/8-mile oval at Indianapolis Raceway Park in the Carb Night Classic, which is run on the same weekend as the Indianapolis 500, the race that remains Yuven’s ultimate goal. He aims to be the first ever Indian-American to race at Indy. The remainder of this year’s schedule features some of the best permanent road course in the United States, including Sebring International Raceway, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, Road America, Mid-Ohio, the Circuit of the Americas, and Portland International Raceway. The diversity of the schedule is designed to train and prepare Yuven for his planned advancement into the NTT INDYCAR Series.
